Coldwell Banker introduces International home search for iPhone and Blackberry

COLDWELL BANKER INTRODUCES INTERNATIONAL HOME SEARCH FOR
iPHONE AND BLACKBERRY

Listings in 28 Countries Now Available on Mobile Devices

- Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC announced today that international Coldwell Banker® real estate listings in 28 countries including Canada, Australia, Mexico, Italy, Aruba, and Colombia will now be accessible via a customized platform for iPhoneTM and BlackBerry® users.

When viewed on an iPhone, BlackBerry or other smartphone the Coldwell Banker flagship Web site, coldwellbanker.com has a different look and feel, along with navigation specifically tailored for optimal viewing the mobile device. This includes property listings search and home value estimator functions. When a user accesses the site through his or her handset, the Coldwell Banker Web site automatically recognizes that it is being accessed by a mobile device and will serve up that specialized interface. Users do not need to download any special software to benefit from this enhancement to the Coldwell Banker mobile technology.

"Now consumers in the home buying and selling process can easily search both domestically and internationally using their mobile devices," said Michael Fischer, senior vice president of marketing for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. "Coldwell Banker will continue to find ways to blaze a trail with technology that provides consumers with listings anytime, anywhere."

Those looking for a home both domestically and internationally will be able to search for homes and utilize the brand's home value estimator. In addition, consumers will be able to enter specific search criteria such as city, state, price as well as optional filters including number of bedrooms and bathrooms. When a property is selected, users can view all of the specifications for that home and contact an agent directly.

WestJet takes a look at Northwest Florida

Here's another possible economic boost for the area.
Northwest Florida Regional Airport is reported to be close to being able to offer international flights early next year.
West Jet is considering adding service to the Northwest Florida area. Airport officials made the announcement during the Okaloosa County Snowbirds Expo, but West Jet wants to hear from the public feedback before agreeing to sing a contract.
The Northwest Florida Regional Airport booth stood out to many Canadians in town for the Snowbirds Expo. Travelers were anxious to find out why one of Canada's largest airline, West Jet, was featured at the booth.
Okaloosa County's airport director said discussions are underway with the air carrier to establish service to Valpariso by next year, but there's still a few loose ends.
Greg Donovan, Airport Director, said, "The logistics are there we just need to sell them on the details of what our market has in terms of customer demand." reported Alex Denis channel 7 from panama city news channel.
The airport has launched a new Web site called wewantwestjet.com. Airport officials hope to generate community support
Donovon says having international flights will tap into a market that will benefit business across the panhandle.
"If we can open that market up that economic impact would be amazing. Not just in terms of visitors and the commerce that they bring but also in the potential of selling real-estate as well."
If the WestJet deal goes through the airport's director, Greg Donovan says he's convinced this terminal will be busy year round with international travelers and some of the Canadians we spoke to said they'd buy a ticket.
Joan Deering, traveling from Canada, said, "I'd like to jump on a plane and come down or my family could come and visit me. It's a lot more convenient."
Jim Galea, also traveling from Canada, added, "It'll be nice to get a direct flight from Toronto, Canada to Ft. Walton Beach instead of making changes in between, because the older you get, the harder it is to make these changes."
Other Canadians say they think this change would bring more visitors year round.
Bernice Galea, traveling from Canada, said, "There's a lot more Canadians than Americans visiting the area I think, almost. They haven't discovered the beautiful things of northwest Florida."
Eglin Air Force Base officials have already confirmed the foreign airline WestJet to operate from Northwest Regional. Airport staff are also working with customs to require screens only take place in Toronto.

Northwest Florida Regional Airport Wants WestJet

Northwest Florida Regional Airport Terminal Visit flyvps.com Visit westjet.com

Many visitors from Canada have discovered how wonderful the entire Gulf Coast region is for a vacation, a seasonal reprieve during winter, or even as a location for a second home. Our sugar white beaches, emerald waters, golf courses, resorts and entertainment are world class but traveling to our area has been hindered by the lack of direct air service to our northernmost neighbor. In fact, the entire region is lacking direct international air service - whether it is scheduled public charter or seasonal service - with the closest airports being Orlando (7 hour drive) or Atlanta (5 hour drive).

Management at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) in conjunction with the Emerald Coast Tourist Development Council and Okaloosa County Economic Development Council are exploring possibilities of introducing direct commercial flights through Canada's leading high-value, low-fare airline - West Jet.

WestJet offers scheduled service to 51 destinations in Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, with its fleet of 76 Boeing Next-Generation 737-series aircraft. The airline strives to offer guests a friendly, efficient and relaxing experience from time of booking to final destination and would be a perfect fit for the area. Non-stop air service to WestJet's primary hub in Toronto could be achieved someday if customer demand is strong enough.

To gauge community support and query potential passengers, this website has been established to provide an electronic survey and further details about this intriguing potential.

The economic benefits to our region are enormous as such a pioneering service would expand tourism beyond traditional "drive-in markets" while providing a much needed convenience for Canadian "Snowbirds" who need to check on home, have friends or family visit, handle medical appointments, or travel on short notice without driving.

Please consider participating in their campaign to show WestJet that possibilities exist in Northwest Florida.
